How long a claim takes depends on where the foreclosure occurred, the requirements of the court or agency holding the funds, and whether there are additional issues that need to be resolved before the funds can be released.
Some claims may move relatively quickly, while others take considerably longer. A claim involving multiple heirs, probate, additional liens or claims to the funds, missing documentation, or other legal issues may require additional time before the funds can be distributed.
The court or agency handling the funds may also have its own review and processing time, which is outside the control of the claimant or the company assisting with the claim.
